For the best results using the Kaizen Idea Card A3 Form send your leaders and engineers to Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training (see the links to register below). In Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training students learn how to create a culture where employees identify waste variation and overburdening in their processes. Once problems are identified teams capture these problems on the Kaizen Idea Card A3 Forms.
Kaizen Idea Cards are placed on the team’s Huddle Board for review in the morning meeting. At the beginning of each shift, there is a brief conversation about new cards posted on the board and any ideas the team may have to resolve the problem quickly. Ideas that cannot be worked on immediately are sorted based on effort and impact by looking at the Kaizen Idea Card. Once a week teams pick 1 card to focus on or problem to solve. Once this problem is resolved the card moves to the “Done” area of the Huddle board and another Kaizen Idea Card is selected to work on.
This Kaizen Idea Card A3 Form process allows the team to capture problems, focus their efforts, and improve their processes on a weekly basis.
